SANTA CLARA, Calif.
— Oakland Raiders coach Jack Del Rio says the team will unveil a new look for its uniforms in 2019, and he’s confident the uniforms will be the envy of the NFL.
Del Rio said the Raiders’ 2019 uniform lineup will be a complete overhaul that will include a bold new color scheme and a bolder, more aggressive, modern look for the team’s mascot.
“It will be bold, and I think it’s going to be a bold look,” Del Rio said during a media availability Tuesday.
“We are going to do everything possible to change things up a little bit.
It’s a bold direction, and we’re going to go after it.”
Del Rio was asked about how the Raiders will continue to compete in a league that has moved to an all-in approach, which is seen as a way to increase revenue for teams and their owners.
“I think the best compliment I can give is not to say how much your programs have taught me (a ton), but how much Marketplace has motivated me to go out and teach myself,” he said.
“I hope that people find something they can learn from my programs that they can apply to their own businesses or their own endeavors.”
Delano also said the team is committed to expanding its fan base, with the Raiders having the largest home-field advantage of any NFL team at Levi’s Stadium, but that it won’t stop there.
“We have a long ways to go,” he told reporters.
“As we have a franchise in Oakland, we want to do whatever we can to support that and make sure that our fans stay in the stadium and that they come out and support us.”
